High Frequency Surface Wave Radar: Class Photograph 2015

20 Feb 2015 - 10:30

Today was the last day of our first course of 2015 – High Frequency Surface Wave Radar,  presented by visiting lecturers from Rutgers University in the United States, Prof Scott Glenn and Dr Hugh Roarty.

The objective of their course was to equip students with a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art in HF Radar technology. For more information, you can download the course handout here.

Our visitors brought the Seasonde high frequency radar with them to Cape Town, and students in the class had an opportunity for some practical hands-on work with this highly sensitive equipment (read more here).

The next course on our calendar, an Introduction to Radar Systems, will run from 2 to 6 March 2015, and will be presented by Prof Piet van Genderen, who is visiting us from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
