Example of cooperation of space flight and radio astronomy

The recent dramatic events around the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Schiaparelli lander’s arrival on Mars in mid-October 2016 are a wonderful example of the cooperation of space flight and radio astronomy.
The Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) located at Pune, India, was ‘listening in’ and tracking the flight of Schiaparelli as it landed on the surface of Mars.
