Due to the current International Covid-19 Pandemic, several courses for the Radar Masters Programme are being suspended until further notice. The Advanced Mathematics Course that begins on the 30th of March (EEE5108Z) will continue, but will be presented online (more details to follow soon). We will update the website as the situation evolves. 


Radar 2020 Challenge!

At the 2020 IEEE International Radar Conference in Washington there will be a new “Radar Challenge” event. The challenge will host an unknown target scene that participants will then sense and decipher using their self-engineered “home-brew” radar. Challenge participants will be judged based on their data collection performance with respect to system cost and the best participants will be recognised with prizes awarded during the banquet dinner. The goal is to build a community of radar builders that collectively explore the art of the possible in making “COTS-based” radars.

SARIG Radar Conference 2019

SA Radar Conf 2019

The 2019 SARIG Radar Conference will focus on the theme of "Radar in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)".

The conference will feature presentations from various South African academic and industry leaders on cutting edge radar technologies, the future of radar, and the application of alternative research fields to the realms of radar and defence. SARIG will be covering the cost of the conference for all attendees, and we encourage anyone with an interest in radar and cutting edge technologies to attend this event.

Introduction to Radar Course Begins

The first course of 2019 is kicking off with 'Introduction to Radar Systems', lectured by Emeritus Professor Mike Inggs. The Course covers the basics of radar, whilst giving students a keen understanding of several important features of the multifaceted technology.
